Before we get to the boring stuff with the history and the architecture, we went FLYING!!!
In Sigulda, Latvia we spent a total of two minutes each being propelled into the air by a giant engine of some kind.
It was super duper awesome, as you can tell by Josh's smile.
Sigulda is described as the Switzerland of Latvia, which is not too impressive as the country's highest point is only 312m.
The area was very pretty and had some nice castles including the cryptically named Sigulda Castle.
Some childish fool who cannot be identified, playing with a spear and helmet. (Probably Yaz) (But more probably
A bird's eye view of the capital, Riga.
The history of the city is on full display through an eclectic mix of medieval halls, reconstructed churches, art-nouveau town houses, degenerated soviet era housing blocks and modern shopping malls.
Riga hosts the finest collection of Art Nouveau buildings in the world.
We couldn't quite afford a hotel in that part of town, so instead opted for this street, where the locals walk their goats every morning.
An hour south of Riga is Rundāle Palace.
Some photos from the gardens and interior, including the snazzy blue plastic shoe coverings provided.
