The Pearl of the Adriatic

We've been on the road for almost a year now, and have seen some rather amazing places (see previous entries for details), so we are becoming rather difficult to impress. What surprised us most about Dubrovnik was not its stunning walls or its charming alleys, but that we fell in love with the place at first sight.

We could recount the long commercial history of what was once the Republic of Ragusa, or describe the picturesquely placed fortifications, but really we just need to show you a few photos and you'll understand.
